Located at 350 Hawthorne Ave, this delightful pizzeria combines traditional Italian culinary expertise with a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for pizza aficionados and families alike.

At Roseland Apizza, the star of the show is undoubtedly their pizza, crafted with passion and precision. The menu boasts a variety of delectable toppings and styles to suit every palate. Signature dishes include the House Special Salad, an explosion of flavors featuring fresh mixed greens, vibrant vegetables, and a hint of salami and provolone, drizzled with quality olive oil. The heart of the menu, however, lies in their pizza offerings. Reviewers rave about the Sausage Pizza, made with house-made sausage, and the classic Pepperoni Pizza, which has a richness that will leave you pondering why you’ve ever settled for less. Each pie showcases a thin crust, perfectly charred and crispy, accentuated by quality ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes and creamy mozzarella. Many diners reflect on the restaurant as not just a place to eat, but a beloved local spot where connections blossom over satisfying meals.

While most reviews highlight the excellent quality of their pizzas, it's important to note that opinions can vary on certain dishes, as one customer mentioned that the Mashed Potato Pizza didn’t quite hit the mark for them. I've wanted to try this place for so long now and I couldn't be happier that I did because it's now my all-time favorite. The pizza was incredible. Its flavors, char, and thinness are all top tier. Their appetizers are great too. The staff was very friendly and it made for an overall excellent experience. Roseland deserves to be in the same conversation with the titans of New Haven and is in my opinion even better than them.

Some of the best New Haven style pizza around. Incredibly flavorful. Even a simple tomato pie or pepperoni will make you wonder why all pizza doesn't taste like this. Dined in for the first time having gotten take out many times before. Take out has never had any issues, though dine in service was quite slow for our party of 7 at dinner time on a Sunday. We were seated right away in their side room due to some lucky timing. This place is always busy and does a lot of take out orders, so I'm assuming this isn't uncommon. However, the food is absolutely worth the wait and basic atmosphere. If you are here for delicious pizza (and garlic bread), you can't go wrong here from their white pizzas (we had the mashed potato and bacon this time) or red pizzas (we had a mozzarella, meatball, and bacon, they were out of pepperoni during our visit). I can't speak for their salads or Italian entrees, but they have had consistent high quality and deep flavor throughout all the dishes we've tried thus far, so I'd be surprised if those weren't also delicious. Looking forward to trying the white clam (to compare against Frank Pepe), the other multitude of pizzas on offer, the grinders, and the entrees during future visits.

Decided to try Roseland's after the high rated reviews. Pizza was okay. I would not recommend the mashed potato pizza, was not great. The cheese pizza was very salty, they offer additional garlic, I would not recommend as the sauce has a strong taste of garlic and very salty.

Has a pizza joint vibe but it's mostly a sit down place. There's a good amount of seating but it's tightly packed. I ordered the house special salad to start. On the menu, there's no description of what's in it. There's a variety of olives, tomato, cucumber, carrot, mixed greens and pepperoni and two twists of provolone and salami. The dressing was just olive oil. I wasn't asked what kind of dressing so I'm assuming that's the house. There's no vinegar whatsoever. Not on the table and not on the salad. Since it was my first time and it was busy, it could be an oversight or this could be what it is. We also ordered a chicken Parm grinder. That was delicious. The bread is fresh and you can tell! Lastly, we ordered pizza, half tomato pie style with fresh garlic, half plain cheese. See photo. It was AMAZING! A definite must! A great amount of char on the crust. The tomato and garlic wasn't overpowered by the char of the crust. You want to eat the crust! Service was attentive and polite. Very helpful on what are popular and personal favorites. Would I order this again? Yes, all but the salad. There's nothing wrong with the salad it's just not my preference. Would I go back? Absolutely and looking forward to it!

Roselands Pizza is absolutely incredible! The pizza truly represents some of Connecticut's finest - every bite was perfection. Their Caesar salad with house made dressing was equally outstanding. We were served by Marissa, the founder's granddaughter, who provided exceptional service and made our experience even more special. The family atmosphere and authentic Italian dining experience really shine through. This is easily a 10/10 spot. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality pizza and genuine hospitality. It's apparent why they're still slinging pies since 1935. Derby is lucky to have this gem!

Came here after the Beardsley's zoo, definitely somewhere I didn't think would have been as good as it was! They were definitely busy, even under going renovations. The pies were amazing! And had a wonderful selection to choose from! Didn't think it would have been good pizza, but I would definitely come back for the pizza! They didn't disappoint in that department! And their pies were big! We thought our medium was big, but the large was huge! If you're questioning on going, I highly recommend making this a stop for your pizza lunch or dinner!

New Haven style done in a gas oven. Slightly more mozz than the big three, cooked perfectly just without the coal fired char, basically. All fresh tasty ingredients just the same, I could taste the San Marzano, Pecorino, and quality mozz. The dough is a thinner style roll out, same as any other Apizza. Nice crisp bottom and nice chewy hard to tell where dough and cheese meet texture. Friendly hard working staff. Got my pizza in 20min on a Friday!!! Stellar, try them out you won’t be disappointed! 7.8/10

Roseland Apizza lived up to the hype for us!!! Quaint little establishment where the locals love to eat! We got there around 4pm and there was a wait when we left at 5:00pm. Pizza was delicious. They make the sausage in house, so we went with that! Side note, the Derby High School down the street looks like one of the nicest high schools I have seen!
